At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Identify and discuss the impact of work-related stress on a pharmacist’s well-being and mental health.
- List and utilize strategies including positive psychology elements, for reducing work-related stress.
- Describe the role of happiness in reducing stress and the continuum of work/play/fun games.
- Discuss how to apply positive reinforcement (R+) and its companion “4 to 1” rule to improve the work climate.
- Review the obstacles to R+ in the pharmacy workplace, especially the “sandwich” rule.
About the speaker
Theodore Rosen, PhD
Dr. Rosen is a licensed psychologist who for 50 years has specialized in helping businesses and any organization including universities and schools, use positive reinforcement principles to motivate their employees and students. In the last several years he has consulted with United Parcel Service (UPS) applying ABA principles to gamification. Other clients include State of GA, Cobb County Schools, Alabama Blue-Cross Blue Shield.
